2006 - a n.e.w st@rt?
Ah. It's been a long time since the last update. With the New Year coming and going, Christmas is long gone and the Chinese New Year is looming up - where the heck has all the time gone? Not to mention that it's just 7 hours till my first year anniversary with william. *happy thoughts*
Work has been piling up as usual - the boss had let go one of the staff and well, guess where does the work go to? No candies for the right answer. :P
Christmas was uneventful. Had a 'small' gathering (which eventually expanded to a full-fledged BBQ party - thanks to my brother's friends). I had a wonderful evening with William by my side. It's amusing to watch him acting so differently in front of Sharmila and everyone else. It seems as if I have a secret crush on this other person other than the William that I know. On one side, he's the macho, protective, gung-ho, smooth talking gentleman - whom I admire and feel soooo secured in his arms. And on the other side, he's the typical lovey-dovey darling, possessive, whiny-baby-ishy little baby boy - whom I love to manja, to cuddle and sometimes take advantage of.
And he didn't even make a fuss when my mum woke us up at 3am to wash the dishes that my ding head of a brother did not bother to help with. However, we did get a shelling from his mum the next afternoon cause he was late for lunch (in other words, everyone in the house is so incompetent that he has to prepare any meal when the maid is off for holidays) and his entire family was left starving. (yar.. starvation for like 15 minutes.. In desperation, his brother chucked 2 raw potatoes with 2 slices of cheese into the microwave - the result looked like some nuclear bomb detonation had gone really wrong.. and the cheese looked as if it was part of the plate. maybe he didn't get a grade A for his kemahiran hidup yarrrrrr...)
All those bullshit aside, it was a rather mellow new year's. Mum, William and I thought that it would be easier to have a little sit down BBQ to finish up the leftover meat from Christmas. It ended up again in a little merry affair.. but it wasn't as complicated as it had been. Nicky, Teddy and Bernie called me up at the last minute and Edmund decided to pop over too. It was nice to see my old friends again. Bernie looked the same, Teddy looked... the same. Can't say much about his girlfriend too. Surprisingly, Bernie and William got into a rather animated chat - at one point I heard William introducing my dogs to Bernie. Nicky and Edmund were the.. odd ones out, I guess.. but they were kind enough to keep my mum company to usher in the new year as I had to send loverboy back home before his mum starts acting up again. My first few seconds of 2006 was spent in my car with my wubb wubb in a traffic jam - oh, and there were fireworks too. So it wasn't that bad at all.
Work wise... well.. same thing day in day out. Not that I am complaining. I rather enjoy it although at times things do seem to be dragging along - things has been much more cheerful since Sara (the new content editor) and Burpy (the new designer) started to be the bising lot. Farnee la they all. Calling each other 'aunties'.
Hmm. Just another amusing moment. Yesterday evening, as Jason was formulating weird-arse questions for a college-based questionnaire and he tested a question on unsuspecting Mr Lee.
J: Mr Lee ar... which colour of underwear do you have most?
L: Err.... Let me think arr..... A lot a lot of colours also got. But I think most is blue.
J: Yarrrr.... the undies come in 3's . Blue, grey and white. Sometimes even green yarrr...
L: Ohh... I don' t like white la.. Very easy get dirty.. My mother always complain wan...
Lynn: Noooohhhhh Mr. Lee... I don't want to knowwwwwww!
L: Ehhh?... You know why she always complain ar..?... Always get dirty~....
Lynn: AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH.... nnnOoOoOooo....!
Yar. Never ask a naive, innocent person disgusting questions. You'd get weirder answers - and then you will wish that you were naive and innocent once again.
