true c.o.l.o.u.r.s

ah.. at my desk again. 9:14am. having a sore throat. a bad hair day.. and more stress after finding out that the printer had printed the wrong version of a flyer. *sighs*.

nonetheless, i had a good night yesterday. it was the launching of the Mcdonalds true colours bands thingy-ma-jig. (yarrrrr.... the bands are RM2.90 each.. and 10 cents ONLY goes to the ronald mc-fat-donald charity for kids - yarrrr and the ronald mcdonald mascot was short and fat. most probably eating too much leftovers)

I had 20 tickets and all of my invited guests came. yay. There was bubbly jessie and her sis, the fickle-minded elly, the sultry sky and his bf (sao inn - he's a hottie), anusha and her friend, timid asreen (komal's sister) and her neighbours, lanci - nicky and his friend - malcolm, siew lee and the young-wannabe freon, my bro, his gf and 2 other friends - they arrived when everything was over. hah. and of course william and i.

I enjoyed myself thoroughly with my ex-colleagues turned good buddies. We do share loads of common interests such as designing, IT, work, fashion, nonsense, some ham sap things.. etc.etc. Jessie, Elly, Sky and their partners had a table to themselves. Nicky, Malcolm, Freon, Siew Lee, freon, william and I were hogging a table to ourselves.

The event started at 8:20pm although it said that it should have started at 7:00pm. Rudy and Jay Jay from the Hitz.fm morning crew were there to entertain us with their silly jokes about the coloured bands - 24 colours with 14 different messages on each. Yeah. Cheesy tag lines such as Aim High, Stay Young and No Excuses. (see the post before this one for more details of the crappy china made pieces of rubbers). I think it was just a whole lot of exaggeration for a branding kinda thingy. Yar. cause Burger king is serving bigger and better burgers.

Dina from one of the finalists of Malaysian Idol 2004 was there. A cheery plump cute little chick with.. .. 'mat rockers' - as jason would have put it - her renegade of rap dancers. They were practicing in the carpark an hour prior to the event. Then there was a fashion show... with some average looking models to 'model' off ways on how to make the bands as a fashion statement. hah. nothing else better to think of issittt...

Amber Chia and Gloria Ting were there too - as well as the big wigs of mcdonalds. The winner from Nescafe Kickstart 2004, Aidan (the carpark fella) was there too - and he wasted no time to take the opportunity to meet and 'suck up to' the leng luis.

Then there were some speeches.. yada yada.. some photo taking pictures with roll-y poll-y mr ronald mcdonald. Malcolm commented that he looked like some chinese opera singer gone wrong.

I had an engaging conversation with Malcolm, although I had only met him a few times. Nicky was always great with the ladies, Siew Lee and Freon.. some.. odd weird charm .. .. i guess. William was... what can i say? quiet the entire evening.

I guess he's just not a people person. on the other hand, i'm as people as people can be!. He didn't seem to be enjoying himself. .. Ah well. I knew he was starving - all they provided for food was some caramel cream brulee (which tasted like mashed banana) and cold fried calmari, fish and.. some chicken i think. oh. and some wasabi mayonnaise for sauce.

And I got Jay-Jay and Rudy's autographs. Didn't bother to get Amber Chia's one. Not too sure why i got the Deejays' signatures but i thought. ahhh what the heck. might as well just get them since they are there. thye are kinda bulky looking guys. bulkier than i last saw them.

but overall, I did have fun. but it's a mixed feeling with william altogether. hmm.. next time, i'll leave him at home with the kids.
